A new Chair for its board!

The Federation’s current Chair, Dr Ahmer Farooqi, will be ending his term of office on 31st March 2024, having led the organisation through the pandemic recovery period and the transition of the Extended Access Service (EAS) to the PCNs through the Enhanced Access (EA) DES.  We are now looking to select a new GP Chair to lead our mission of supporting Barnet Practices, PCNs and patients over the next 3 years.

These are extremely challenging times for our practices and the need for strong, dynamic and unifying leadership for the Federation remains as important as ever.

The selection process is as follows:

  • Application by CV and covering letter to be submitted by 22nd January 2024
  • Interviews to be held w/c 29th January 2024 (The panel will include the LMC and an external accessor from another Borough)
  • Elections at the start of February if more than one candidate is adjudged to meet the person specification.
  • Start date 1st April 2024.  The term is for 3 years subject to annual review.

To be eligible applicants must be a GP partner or salaried GP in a Barnet practice.  Job-share application will be considered for this post.

The role is remunerated at 2 sessions per week at an annualised salary of £27,503 on payroll (additional £3,731 NI if off-payroll).
